This document specifies the classification and marking, ordering content, materials, technical requirements, inspection methods, acceptance criteria, arbitration, packaging, labeling, and quality certificates for mineral extraction hoisting wire ropes (hereinafter referred to as "wire ropes"). It applies to round-strand, non-round-cross-section, and pressed-strand wire ropes used in coal, metal, and non-metallic mine hoisting and ancillary devices. It does not apply to balance wires or sealed wire ropes used in vertical shafts.

Composite core (CC): A composite steel wire rope core made of two or more materials such as steel wires (strands) with fibers or solid polymers.
